Thoroughly Modern Disney Roommates.
I don't have much to say this week. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME
From last speaking to you I have opened a musical and found Disney roommates and those have been the most exciting parts of my life. So HEY
I OPENED A MUSICAL!
Thoroughly Modern Millie
@ the Terrace Plaza Playhouse
February 23 -- April 07
7:30 pm
We have only been open for a couple of weeks, but there have already been some adventures let me tell you what. First of all, our beloved Jacci who plays Mrs. Meers has gotten PNEUMONIA, literally pneumonia, and so she has been out all week. We don't have doubles or understudies, so we literally (literally trash with how many times I just said literally) had to find someone who has played the part before and was willing to fill in. Thank you Melissa, holy crap. She filled in and she hasn't played the role in years; girl I don't think I could do that, but she did it so effortlessly! A true professional. And then there are just the pure live theatre moments when a line is forgotten or where Seante and I forget to set our costumes and end up running at full sprint to the other side of the theatre to change as fast as humanly possible.. yepp we did that. But the show is open and doing great! Come seeee meeeee
The costumes are gorgeous and the music is fun and the dialogue is snappy--a pure treat.
Annnddddd the other exciting thing in my life is that I found Disney roomies!! This has been a tHING wow. So for those of you who don't know, there are Facebook pages dedicated to people being accepted into the Disney College Program. They exist so people can meet and find friends or potential roommates. Which is awesome! I first started out looking for some LDS roommates, thinking that would be the best option. But guys. There are like NO LDS people doing the DCP. At least with my arrival date and at least on Facebook. I know things will be different there, but yeah that was a challenge. So I wasted my first little bit on that wild goose chase, and then I released that I didn't need that and that I could totally find good, decent, fun human beings that I could respect and that could respect me and it would all be fine. I had been looking about this all wrong. So I went on the search for this new sort. Still not easy. There were plenty of petty people filling up those pages wowwwwww. To be fair, there were plenty of people I did get along with, but they already had roommates. But I found some people about a week ago, and things were going great. I was pretty excited; we had chatted a bunch and were talking what stuff to bring... but then they bailed on me and I was left without roommates once again and feeling more discouraged than ever.
I was ready to just go random, let fate decide. There were some people I had been messaging more casually, and after a couple of days of sulking, I decided to give them a proper go. They seemed wonderful. Then another awesome person showed up on my feed and I gave them a little hello, and BAM. I FOUND 3 WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND THEY WERE ALL OF A SUDDEN MY ROOMMATES. GROUP CHATS WERE FORMED. EXCITED DISNEY TEXTS WERE SHARED. SNAPCHATS WERE GIVEN. INSTAGRAMS WERE FOLLOWED. It has been literally 2 days and I already love them so much. SO MUCH. Anddd a new roommate joined our ranks today because we want 6 total in our apartment (so we are still looking for one more), and I am excited to get to know her as well.
It's just so amazing that I could be SO discouraged, and feel like I had seriously been looking for years with no luck, and then all of a sudden this happens. And things even fell apart. But after things fell apart that's when they became better than ever. I had to see what I didn't need to truly see what I did need. And it seems like I found the perfect fit for me. And people aren't perfect, and we still might run into some hard times with each other, but I think I lucked out and I am extremely excited to explore the parks with these humans. So S/O to my newest best friends:
Abigail Alsmeyer
Amber Brown
EDIT: Carmen Thorne
Sidny Grover
Ashleigh Bredigkeit
